About the Campaign
Ascend Learning & Development Center is a crucial solution in the fight against poverty. With almost 28% of working families under 200% of the poverty line, Ascend is here to provide an answer. The goal is to provide learning and development programs for women of color who are unemployed or underemployed. This initiative is designed to increase the hourly/annual wage of the participants. Once the classes have been completed, the women will have access to employment placement services through Thrive Staffing Firm.
The Ascend L&D classes will focus on the most sought-after positions in the current job market. These positions include Executive Client Service, Project Management, Data Analysis/Science, Human Resources, and Event Planning. The classes will offer theory, application, and a short-term externship to ensure that participants have a well-rounded education. Additionally, Thrive Staffing Firm will assist women of color in finding viable career solutions.
The Solution will partner with companies in various industries to secure permanent placement for the Ascend L&D Center participants. Each participant will receive a complete resume, cover letter, and reference documents to help them succeed in their job search. For those interested in starting their own business, Ascend will provide a Business Wealth Incubator to help women of color realize their entrepreneurial dreams.
