About the Campaign
The impact of economic independence for women cannot be overstated. Research shows that when women are financially empowered, entire communities benefit. Yet, in the state of Delaware, 27.9% of working families live below 200% of the poverty line, and women of color are disproportionately affected. That’s why our program is so crucial.
We know that access to professional attire can be a barrier to employment for many women. Our program provides participants with a full outfit for their first job interview, boosting their confidence and increasing their chances of success. And it doesn’t stop there. Our program also offers job training and development, including resume building and interview preparation, which are essential tools for advancing in today’s job market.
Our commitment to empowering women has a ripple effect throughout the community. When women are financially stable, they are able to invest in themselves and their families. In fact, studies show that for every dollar earned by a woman, 90 cents is invested back into her family and community. By supporting our program, donors, corporate sponsors, and volunteers are not only helping women achieve economic independence but also contributing to the overall economic health of the community.
In conclusion, our program is essential to the economic empowerment of women in Delaware. The results we’ve seen speak to the effectiveness of our approach. By providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools, we are giving women the tools they need to succeed in work and in life. We urge donors, corporate sponsors, and volunteers to join us in this mission and invest in the economic well-being of women in our community.
